Plant names are rich with charm and description. These annuals, perennials and shrubs all have fall, autumn or harvest themed names.

Anemone 'September Charm' – This spring-planted bulb blooms in a delicate silvery-pink and has dark green foliage that resembles maple leaves.

Azalea 'Autumn Encore' Series – All the azaleas in this series are reblooming azaleas and will have a large flush of blooms in the spring, flower sporadically throughout the summer, and produce another autumn flush of flowers. Fanciful names include 'Autumn Angel', 'Autumn Empress' and 'Autumn Monarch'.

Bleeding-heart (Dicentra 'Bountiful') – This bleeding-heart cultivar tolerates more heat and sun and will bloom all the way through until first frost.

Candytuft (Iberis) 'Autumn Snow' and 'October Glory' – Both are perennial candytufts and will rebloom in the fall but 'Autumn Snow' stands a bit taller than the 'October Glory', which only reaches 8”.

Cherry, Ornamental (Prunus subhirtella 'Autumnalis Rosea') – An autumn and spring flowering cherry tree enjoys ornamental blooms for more than one season.

Coneflower (Echinacea) 'Harvest Moon' – This coneflower blooms a golden orange color with 4” wide flowers on the 2' tall plant.

Coreopsis 'Autumn Blush' – Unlike most yellow coreopsis, or tickseed plants, the 'Autumn Blush' has unique cream-colored petals that tinge with a rose red in cool autumn months. Unique wine red eyes are a year round feature.

Crabapple (Malus) 'Harvest Gold' – All crabapples provide winter interest in a garden but 'Harvest Gold' has bright yellow fruit lasting into winter months and golden foliage in the autumn months.

Daylily (Hemerocallis) 'Autumn Red' – A very popular daylily , this cultivar has deep red petals with a gold throat. This daylily blooms in mid-summer and again in late summer.

Hosta 'Autumn Moon' – Dark-blue, heart-shaped leaves give this hosta its name.

Iris 'Harvest of Memories' and 'Autumn Circus' – 'Harvest of Memories' is a reblooming bearded Iris that is bright yellow. 'Autumn Circus' has white petals with blue edges and speckles.

Japanese Maple (Acer shirasa wanum) 'Autumn Moon' and 'Autumn Fantasy' and (Acer rubrum) 'Autumn Flame', 'Autumn Spire' and 'October Glory'– Many Japanese maples are named for the brilliant autumn foliage they put on each year.

Maple (Acer freemanii) 'Autumn Blaze' – A large maple tree with brightly colored fall foliage.

Narcissus 'Golden Harvest' – A fall planted bulb, this lovely daffodil is named for the bountiful harvest of yellow flowers that appear each spring.

Rosa 'Autumn Sunset' – Available as a climbing rose to give your garden vertical interest.

Rosa 'Fall Festival' and 'Autumn Dawn' – Both these roses are miniature roses and can be grown as edging plants or in containers.

Rosa damascena 'Autumn Damask' – A Damask rose, part of the Old Garden Rose group, has very fragrant flowers.

Rudbeckia 'Autumn Sun' - Golden summer and fall flowers don't need staking, like many coneflowers, making 'Autumn Sun' a popular choice.

Sedum 'Autumn Charm', 'Autumn Joy' and 'Autumn Fire' – Sedum plants are stars of the fall garden because their flowers mature in the autumn months after months of drought-tolerant summer green.

Serviceberry (Amelanchier 'Autumn Brilliance') – Brilliant is definitely the word to use as this serviceberry has brilliant red foliage.
