» Joni Rose - Paper Whites yes, other bulbs?

I know you can grow paper whites indoors this time of year by putting some gravel and water into a vase or pot and placing the bulbs on top...but what about other bulbs? I like the idea but would be interested to hear if there is something else I could try besides the tried and true...anything more exotic?

I will do some more research on any possible limitations but I have personally had success growing a layered container of bulbs that held grape hyacinth, crocus and narcisuss all together. I had several weeks worth of blooms from that beautiful coffee table centerpiece. A friend and I had put it together.
