In response to Bulbs posted by craftskc:

If it is still very small it will not flower so consider leaving it with the "mother bulb" for another growing seasont to more easily gain size.

When it is large enough to begin flowering you can gently seperate it (try doing this when the plants are dormant - usually towards the end of January) to increase the number of plants you have or you can leave them together in one large clump which will likely need to be replanted into a bigger pot.

Either way be sure to fertilize lightly throughout the growing season to allow the bulbs to grow. And be sure not to overwater. :-) More tips on growing amaryllis bulbs can be found in this series of articles by our Flower Gardening writer: http://flowergardens.suite101.com/articl...

Hope this helps you!
